Genio Sleep Therapy
Genio® is an FDA-approved treatment for adults with moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea who have not found relief with CPAP. This innovative, mask-free system works by gently stimulating the nerves on both sides of the tongue to help keep the airway open throughout the night.
Obstructive sleep apnea, or OSA, occurs when the tongue and surrounding tissues relax during sleep and temporarily block the airway. These repeated interruptions in breathing can prevent you from getting the deep, restorative sleep your body needs. If left untreated, obstructive sleep apnea may contribute to daytime fatigue, difficulty concentrating, mood changes, high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, and other serious health concerns.
WHAT TO EXPECT

Genio therapy uses gentle bilateral stimulation to activate the nerves on both sides of the tongue. This helps prevent the tongue from blocking the airway so you can breathe more regularly while you sleep. Unlike traditional implantable therapies, the Genio implant does not contain a battery. Instead, it is powered by a small wearable component placed beneath the chin before bedtime. The wearable activates the implant while you sleep and is removed in the morning. An optional smartphone app also provides access to tracking and comfort features that can help support your treatment experience.

You may be a candidate for Genio therapy if you:
Are 22 years of age or older
Have been diagnosed with moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea
Have a recent sleep study showing an apnea-hypopnea index, or AHI, between 15 and 65
Have been unable to tolerate or find sufficient relief with CPAP or other standard treatments
Meet the additional medical and anatomical requirements for treatment
